If you've tried to find out what a website costs, you've probably hit the same wall everyone does: agencies say "it depends", freelancers quote wildly different numbers, and website builders promise everything for €12 a month. All three are technically telling the truth, which doesn't help you at all. So here are real numbers, based on what we actually charge and what we see in the market in 2026.
The short answer
- One-page website for a restaurant, café, or local service: €800 – €2,500
- Multi-page business website (5–10 pages, blog, gallery): €2,500 – €6,000
- Custom web application with logins, bookings, or dashboards: €8,000+
- Ongoing costs (hosting, domain, small updates): €10 – €50 per month
The rest of this post explains what moves you up or down within those ranges, and, just as importantly, when you don't need to spend at the top of them.
What you get for €800–2,500: the one-page website
For most restaurants, cafés, salons, and local service businesses, a single well-built page is genuinely enough. Not a compromise, enough. It should include everything a customer looks for in the first 10 seconds: what you offer, where you are, when you're open, what it costs, and how to contact or find you.
- Your menu or service list, readable on a phone without pinching and zooming
- Opening hours and a Google Maps embed
- Photos that look like your actual place, not stock images
- One-tap call, WhatsApp, or reservation button
- Google reviews pulled in automatically
- Fast loading, under 2 seconds on mobile data
The price range within that band depends mostly on content. If you have photos, texts, and a logo ready, you're near the bottom. If we need to write your copy, arrange photography, and design a small visual identity, you're near the top.
What pushes you into the €2,500–6,000 range
- Multiple pages: separate menu, events, catering, about, and contact pages
- A blog or news section you can update yourself
- Two or more languages (very common here in Slovakia, SK + EN adds roughly 15–25%)
- Online reservations integrated with a booking system
- A content editor so your staff can change the menu without calling anyone
The costs nobody mentions upfront
The build price is only part of the picture. Here's the honest list of recurring costs, because we'd rather you hear it from us than discover it later:
- Domain: €10 – €20 per year
- Hosting: €0 – €20 per month for a modern static site (ours typically run near zero)
- Email on your own domain: €4 – €7 per user per month
- Content updates: either a small monthly care plan (€30 – €80) or pay-per-change
When you should NOT pay for a custom website
Honesty time. If you're testing a brand-new business, have zero budget, and just need something online this week, a website builder or even a well-maintained Google Business Profile is fine for now. A custom site pays off when customers are already searching for you, when you're losing bookings to competitors with better sites, or when your current site embarrasses you on mobile. If that's not you yet, save your money. We'll still be here when it is.
“The most expensive website is the cheap one that loses you two customers a week without you ever knowing.”
How to compare quotes
When you get offers, don't compare only the final number. Ask three questions: How fast will it load on a phone? Who owns the domain and the site afterwards (the answer must be: you)? And what does a small change cost after launch? Those three answers separate a website that earns money from one that just exists.
