What we built
Camasys is a modular cloud system covering everything a car rental company needs: rentals, subscriptions and leasing, from the first online booking through handover, damage, servicing and invoicing, without bolting three other systems onto the side.
We contributed to the web platform across frontend and backend, working on the modules for fleet availability, reservations and operational reporting, the parts that decide whether a car is earning or sitting still.
The agenda it covers
The platform is deliberately broad, because the alternative for a rental operator is a patchwork of tools that disagree with each other:
- Flexible pricelists: hourly, daily and weekly rates, seasonal and weekend pricing, per-location rates, add-ons, promo codes and corporate agreements
- The complete digital life of a vehicle from purchase to sale, with documents, service history, damage, costs, depreciation and utilization on one profile
- Photo-verified damage records with timestamps, costs and accountability per vehicle
- Fraud prevention through ID capture, driver verification, deposits, audit trails and anomaly alerts
- Role-based access, so each branch and each role sees only what it needs
- A timeline rental planner with drag-and-drop scheduling, conflict detection and utilization heatmaps
Three surfaces, one system
Around the core platform sit a white-label booking site where customers reserve and manage rentals themselves around the clock, a staff mobile app, and an e-signature app for compliant digital documents.
The mobile app is the one the branch actually lives in: transfer vehicles, open and close contracts, record damage with timestamped photos, receive push notifications for new bookings, and identify a car instantly with the built-in licence-plate scanner. Everything syncs back in real time.
Telematics feeds fuel level, odometer and location into the same picture, which is what turns a claimed refuel into a verified one.
Who runs it
Camasys is used by rental operators including Avis, Budget, Payless, RentCarNow and AUTO IN. Their reported results give a sense of what the system is for: Avis Slovakia cites a 40% increase in online bookings, Budget twice as fast rental processing, and RentCarNow a 24% increase in fleet utilization.
